Tain Museum and Clan Ross Centre have been invited to send representatives to two events being held this autumn to celebrate the lives of the Czech airmen serving in the RAF in World War Two. Event 1. In September - A Book Launch and Exhibition at the RAF Museum in Brno in the Czech Republic. Event 2. In November - A commemoration for the 311 Squadron at the Czech Embassy in London. We wish to ask our Museum Manager, Jason Ubych, and his wife Lorna to attend these events to represent the Museum, the Town of Tain and the 17 airmen of 311 Squadron buried in our cemetery. Jason, on behalf of the Museum, and Lorna whose late Uncle was an honory member of the 311 Squadron, has been gathering and sharing information about our Czech graves with Brno Museum, who are extending these invitations. At the event, Jason and Lorna will have an opportunity to meet the Czech President, the leader of the Czech Senate and ambassadors from the USA and the UK. Jason is in the ideal position to represent Tain Museum as well as the town itself and the whole area of Easter Ross. Many people worldwide read and enjoy his Museum Facebook and Instagram posts. Please help us send Jason and Lorna to these events. Our target for financing this is £1,500, which, ideally, we need to achieve in the next thirty days.
