Hello & thank you for visiting our fundraising page for Cosby Yarn Bomb. We are an award winning organisation based in Cosby, Leicestershire. We work to improve wellbeing, reduce isolation & bring communities together by creating Yarn Bomb displays. Your donations will help to fund these displays & also the year round projects & community groups where they are created. We create displays for Halloween, Remembrance Day & Christmas - our Christmas display is up until 5th Jan 2024. Each summer we host a 3 week Yarn Bomb event where we transform our village with a trail of over 60 displays. This event is the culmination of year-round work with over 2 thousand individuals, including wellbeing & outreach projects with mental health & SEND organisations, community groups, charities, schools & families. If you enjoy our Yarn Bomb displays we'd really appreciate a donation to help us continue this valuable work. Here's what your donation could fund: £5 buys 3 balls of yarn....it takes over 3000 to create our summer Yarn Bomb! £15 will fund a session for someone at our creativity for wellbeing group £40 will pay for room hire & refreshments for 1 of our weekly Cosby Crafters sessions £60 will enable someone to attend our creativity for wellbeing group for 1 month £250 will fund a free day's workshop for a local school, community group or community event. Yarn Bomb is created by the community for the community. We design projects that enable anyone to contribute no matter what age, skill or experience. Every contribution is valued & celebrated as an important part of what makes up the whole. That's a metaphor for how we see community. We are all different, we all matter & we all have something valuable to offer. We aim to create welcoming spaces for people to come together & take an active role in their community, to express themselves creatively, share skills & ideas, encourage & support each other. Through this, friendships are forged, relationships grow & togetherness, understanding, pride, purpose & a sense of belonging is nurtured.
