Hi, My name is Monika. My son and his wife have been living in an in-law apartment with his father and stepmother. Chris' dad has major health issues and they have been helping with his care. On Friday, July 28, there was a devastating fire at their home that destroyed the property completely. Chris and Toni lost everything they had. They did not have insurance on their personal belongings and are left to rebuild their life. Thankfully Chris and Toni were uninjured, but are left with only the items they had on that day. Chris' stepmother is in the hospital with burns, but is expected to make a full recovery. Unfortunately, Chris had to put his father in a nursing home until they can get their lives back in order and find a suitable living situation. Only time will tell how long it will take. Chris and Toni are currently staying in our 23ft trailer in our driveway. We have an extra bedroom, however, a friend of ours was previously a victim of fire as well and is staying with us until her place is ready to move in. So the camper it is while they look for a place to live. Chris and Toni will need to replace everything: from personal necessities and clothing to kitchen supplies to living room and bedroom furniture. The first step in getting them back on their feet would be to raise enough funds to cover 1st month's rent and security deposit as well as replace necessities.
