My name is Janai Chatman, wife of Steve Chatman. Together we share four amazing children; 3 daughters: Sariya (9), Kinsley (5), Jaide (2) & a new baby boy Keion (5 months). After battling stage 2 hypertension for the past month, I started experiencing stroke-like symptoms including blurred vision, numbness on my left side, and the extreme onset of headaches. On July 13, Steve decided to transport me to the ER where I was diagnosed with Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis (CVST). During an MRI, a neurologist was able to see pressure in my brain along with severe spinal issues. At this time the cause is unknown. Because of this and the stroke-like symptoms, I am limited in my ability to work while I follow up with several specialists. Steve will also be limited in his availability to work as I cannot drive & have to be mindful of my daily activities. Because of my limitations, Steve will also single-handedly help care for me & our children during my medical journey as we moved to Houston, TX last year & all of our family lives in Illinois. There will be medical expenses for several diagnostic tests along with our regular bills as a young family of 6, so this will undoubtedly create financial hardship for us. All funds donated to us will be used to ease our family's financial burdens during this time. If you can donate to our family we would greatly appreciate it, no matter how big or small. If you cannot we understand & appreciate your prayers. We ask that either way you stand in agreement with us as we pray for healing and share it for others to see. Thank you all and God bless you!
