Hi, my name is Adrianna and I am fundraising for my mother, Carolyn Fariss. Just about a month ago, she was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer which happened to be stage 4. She has been in and out of the hospital, repeatedly having to have fluid drawn off of her lungs. However, this most recent trip to the hospital was because she was in septic shock. She has been in the intensive care unit for over a week. As you may know, chemotherapy destroys your immune system and you are extremely susceptible to infections. Unfortunately, she caught an infection, but her body has come out of shock now; although, she is still recovering from all this. My mom is a single mother who has raised me on her own for eighteen years. She loves taking care of people which is why she worked as a CNA for more than 18 years. She will always do anything for anyone around her. However, for the past two months she hasn’t been able to work due to her condition. She loved to work, she was all the time picking up shifts and working over time, and right now, she is no longer able to work. I just want to be able to help my mom in any way possible because she actually is the best mother out there; She means to world to me.
