You may have already witnessed the devastation left in the wake of a fire that ripped through our Mothers home in the early morning hours on July 29, 2024 in Fermeuse Newfoundland which left Byron, his mother and her partner homeless. Four years ago Byron moved from Ontario to Newfoundland in an effort to better his quality of life and to follow his dream of working in the fishing industry, something he’s loved since as early as I can remember, some of his best memories were when he and I would work on the wharfs as kids in Petty Harbour from time to time, and he’s still way better at it then me. Byron’s boss has been gracious enough to allow Byron to stay at a cabin he owns until the crab season comes to a close (at the end of August) as he admires Byron’s work ethic and calls Byron “one of the best employees he has and is willing do what he can to keep him”. We can’t thank Dennis enough for his compassion and generosity as Byron faces the aftermath head on. Now here’s where we need your help! The reason we are reaching out to you, his friends and family is Byron has lost everything he owns. We are looking to raise funds to cover his first and last months deposit once we have found a suitable place for Byron to stay, and to replace as much of the items he has lost, things like clothes, food storage containers, pots and pans, dishes and glassware, microwave, television furniture, bed, couch, end tables, kitchen table, kitchenware, bedding, towels as well as winter clothing and much more. We are facing challenging times, and every single dollar raised will help our build back Byrons dream. Every dollar counts! On behalf of my entire family thank you for your calls and messages of encouragement this has helped Byron through some very difficult days but knowing you were there to support him brings back the smile on his face. With love, Byrons brother Dale
