On Sunday July, 2nd, the Chicagoland area got pounded with a lengthy, terrible rain storm leaving roads and viaducts completely flooded. Even worse, many residents who live in basement apartment. My best friends Bravette and Jose Fleet were among them. They woke up to shin high water in their entire basement apartment. They had to seek temporary shelter at a friend's apartment until the landlord could finally come to access the damage and how to move forward. He finally shows up three days later only to not take responsiblity for no working sump pump, clogged drains etc etc. In this stance, he's not agreeing to help with clean up or temporary housing. Needless to say, a lot of their belongings are not savageable and they cannot stay in this now damp apartment that destined for mold and mildew from water. Not to mention, it's predicted to be a rainy summer so there's no telling if this will happen again. THEY NEED TO MOVE AND REPLACE THEIR THINGS!
