My name is Bradley Sharp and I live in the Berclair area of Memphis, TN. On Tuesday, July 18th a storm came through and uprooted a nearly 100-year-old oak tree which landed on my house. The tree itself crushed 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. A 3rd bedroom and the living room were left heavily damaged with the roof and ceilings in very unsafe condition. The kitchen and dining room are accessible so gratefully a lot of the content in those 2 rooms can be recovered however most of the rest of the rooms and furniture are lost. It will Cost $16,000 first to remove the tree, and then unknown costs to demolish the house to make the lot safe. At this point, I do not know if I can/will sell the property but I would like to rebuild at some point. Whether or not that is a practical option I do not know, but this ask is for any contribution toward the removal of the tree and the safety and security of the structures and the neighboring houses. There might be a cost related to the neighbor's car being totaled but I don't think I feel comfortable asking other people to worry about that. I feel the need to take responsibility for that if it arises. Of course, I don't know what is appropriate right now beyond humility and gratitude.
