Piyalli! My name is Míchelle “Miix” Estrada!I am a student birthworker & soon to be certified doula (Aug 2024). I am Mexican of Veracruz Nahua & Yo’eme heritage, reconnecting through birthwork & community support!I am posting this GFM as a support system for myself as I continue my path as a birthworker. As I’ve started this journey, I’ve been supporting families pro-bono or donation based & selling my handmade jewelry to pay for any costs/supplies I need to continue my practice as a community birthworker. I am in the process of becoming a Medi-Cal (insurance + hospital based) doula to support low-income families who deserve the care & support I offer without charging them!I still have supplies & a business license to pay for before I can officially be enrolled & accept clients. My life goal is to be an autonomous decolonial traditional midwife & focus on supporting queer, GNC, trans, non-binary & fat BIPOC birthing people. I want to someday build a birthing center & community garden to care for all of the babies & families of our communities. This GFM will be funding FOR ME to support my practice, as well as an opportunity for folks who want to share any funds for me to support any clients who want my assistance but don’t have funds to receive care. The funds will go towards: + food/groceries (PP client care)+ gas for my car+ materials I will need in my practice + licenses & trainings I am at the point where I am not sustainable in my practice due to lack of funding but I refuse to quit on this dream! For more information, follow my [email redacted].maguey or email me at [email redacted] For direct support: Venmo - @ miixestradaCashapp - $ miixestradaPaypal - [email redacted]no .eduI greatly appreciate everyone who has supported me through this journey & I hope to continue as I start saving funds for midwifery school in the near future! Much gratitude & love Tlazkamati miac -Miix
