Hi we are Courtney, Cristin, and Colleen, we are Waynes nieces and are reaching out for help for our dear uncle. Our Uncle Wayne Ketcham was found unresponsive last week in his apartment, in a diabetic coma. His kind neighbors had been asking the apartment complex to check on him for three days before they finally did, and when they did, he was barely alive. As you might imagine, Wayne has a long road ahead of him if he survives. He is not currently able to swallow or walk, and is currently also battling pneumonia. We don’t yet know the full extent of the impact to his brain being deprived of oxygen for as long as it was. We know how many people love Wayne. He has touched and changed so many of our lives . He is so kind and big-hearted, generous always playing Santa at family Christmas parties, the mother goose of story telling, quick with a smile and joke. He needs our help and support now. Without working, he has no incoming income, and unfortunatly his health insurance policy has lapsed therefore he does not currently have health insurance. (We are working to get him on medical assistance.) We don’t think he will be able to live independently again, and expect that he may have significant ongoing medical expenses. A lifelong lover of animals, Wayne has one cat, Freddy, who a friend has thankfully agreed to care for in the interim. We know that he would appreciate anything you can do to support Wayne during this difficult time. We will continue to keep you updated through this page. Thank you for considering it. With Love, Courtney, Cristin and Colleen and his entire family
