On July 16, 2024 my sister and brother in law, Beck and Joey, came home from celebrating his birthday to find an ambulance at their home. The neighbor informed them that lightning had struck their house and there was smoke coming out of it so they had called 911. Moments later the fire department arrived and extinguished the fire that had started in the attic with the lightning strike, and made it's way into their living room, igniting their couch. Everyone is safe and the fire department was able to extinguish the fire, but everything they own is destroyed. The structure is still standing but will have to be completely gutted. Aside from all of their personal belongings, Beck's work computer and all equipment, and everything for her doll business was also destroyed so she will be unable to work for the near future. The only things they have that aren't burnt, melted, wet, or covered in smoke/soot are the things they had with them for an overnight hotel stay. I'm just looking to get some help for them with some basics to get through the next few weeks while we clean up and salvage what, if anything, we can, and they start to rebuild their life. Luckily their 8 year old daughter, Haven, was at Grandma's house and didn't have to witness the fire, but her things were also covered in thick soot/smoke. Anything raised beyond the basics will go towards replacing Haven's things, and anything that will help their family feel some type of normalcy and comfort while displaced. I've also set up an Amazon wishlist with some back to school stuff for Haven to help alleviate that upcoming stress, if preferred https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/12UU9O1IBNKIU?ref_=wl_share A few people have asked, Haven wears size 7/8 in clothes and 13/1 in shoes.
