Hello, My name is Pearle Butler. I am trying to raise money to help my daughter Amy Rodger. Her house in Barre, VT was flooded by the storms here on July 10. Those of you who know her, know what a hard worker she is. She was back at the house Tuesday afternoon. And started right in dealing with all that needs to be done. She's spent any where from 10 to 18 hours a day working hard to mitigate the damage. Her cellar was completely filled with water. And there was about an inch that made it on to the main floor. The new furnace she had to replace last year, the hot water heater & the power box were all destroyed. Not to mention everything she had in the basement. Also the base of the chimney was damaged by the floating water heater. Amy had a nice yard completely fenced in. A perfect place for her grandson to safely play. But that fence was completely destroyed. Her garage was also flooded. Ruining most everything stored in there. Amy has dedicated so much of herself to the communities she loves. She was in the US Army for 3 years then the VT National Guards for an additional 5. She spent 14 years as a volunteer firefighter and EMT. And spent quite a bit of time helping with youth sports programs. Amy and her husband were both injured in a serious motorcycle accident a year ago. She still suffers pain from that. Yet, as I said, she's at her house daily. She, her daughter & grandson are staying with us until the house is made livable. She has been getting home about 10 every night with barely the energy to shower & eat. Any funds raised will help cover repairs & losses not covered by her insurance. Already she has spent hundreds of dollars on sump pumps, dehumidifiers, pails, shovels, tarps, cleaning supplies, a generator and gas to run it. Plus many more needs to begin fixing the house. So very many people & organizations have stepped up to help! She is extremely grateful. When I said I was going to start this, she didn't want me to. Because , she said, "So many people have lost so much more than I have." If you feel that you can help in any way, that would be wonderful. Even words of encouragement help.
