Hello friends, neighbors, and those who have come across our page, My name is Izzy Banse and I am fundraising in regards to Sharon, the owner of Althea's Attic Boutique. As you probably know, the state of Vermont has recently suffered devastating flooding. Montpelier, Vermont is especially suffering. This is one of the most catastrophic floods in our beautiful capital's history. Montpelier, Vermont is one of the most loving, vibrant, and accepting places I have ever known. The sense of community here is outstanding, it's so full of love. The businesses here are incredibly close knit to our community. This fundraiser is specifically to support Sharon with Althea’s Attic and the enormous losses and damages that could potentially end the business. Specifically covering mass amounts of damaged and destroyed inventory, employee costs, professional cleaning, and long term repairs to the structure and fixtures that were damaged in the flooding. Us, along with many other downtown businesses did not have flood insurance in our basement and are paying for most everything completely out of pocket. As many of you know, Sharon is one of the most loving and bright faces we see in our downtown businesses. She has curated such an incredibly loving and homey environment that ensures a safe space. Althea’s has something for everyone, and its welcoming and unique vibe is very special to our downtown community. What you may not know is that Sharon took over the space in November of 2024, peak COVID times, and was given little to no assistance. Due to COVID, it was just her and I for many months. I have worked with Sharon for over five years and have never met such a caring and loving employer, she is family to me. Sharon truly wants everyone to be happy, and will go lengths to make sure people's needs are met. To not have this store be a part of our town would be a terrible loss. Thank you for considering donating to Sharon, anything helps. Your donation will provide mass assistance with recovery and rebuilding.
