Dance is my children's passion and they're throwing their hearts and souls into it! My daughter and son want to become professional dancers after graduating and my daughter is already assisting in classes with younger students and helping to teach dance any opportunity she has. This year my daughter has been awarded an All Star Scholarship for the Dupree Summer Intensives in Chicago. While there she will attend 3 days of 'classes taught by 8 amazing master teachers and choreographers from across the nation' and dance with other All Stars from around the country as they perform for everyone attending the event! To pay for dance we make sacrifices as a family. I work events through a Booster Club and sell clothing and jewelry items I've made. When family and friends need someone to do something for some extra money, I'm always willing to hold up the sign, "Will work to pay for dance." I knew this year would be tight, but we'd somehow make it through the season, like we always do. Then a trip to Chicago was added to the schedule! And we're just starting the season!My husband is a disabled vet. He isn't able to be involved much in the fundraising, but he holds down the fort while I am out doing all the things. This year I, too, am dealing with a medical issue that is making fundraising especially challenging. Our daughter is working hard to put money aside for this event. She is spinning yarn to sell and cat sitting for friends, among other things. Even with grandparents helping out all they can, we are realizing we just need a bigger team!The cost of all of the events that are part of the 3 Day Intensive are covered by the scholarship for my daughter. We need to provide travel and hotel expenses. I also want to make sure that we are able to pay the dance studio all of the costs for competitions and costumes that will be part of this competition year. We are asking for $3,000.00 to cover: ~the choreography and costume expenses related to the competition piece(s) that will be performed in Chicago ~travel to and from the 3 Day Intensive~Intensive fees for my son to participate in the 3 Days of classes~hotel stay at the Intensive~food and other related expenses while in Chicago~other costs involved in the competition season as we make our way towards this IntensiveIn order to meet the deadline for confirming her participation as an All Star Dancer, we need to have the funds raised by July 1, 2016.With your help, we can do this!
