We are asking the community to come together to support Troy Waldron who is bravely facing Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Troy has owned his home in Dunedin since 1994. He and his partner started a cleaning business in 2001. They have been active community members for many years. Both are long-term members of the Dunedin VFW where they have volunteered selflessly. Recently, Troy fought throat cancer and survived it courageously, never giving up the battle. He is an old soul who speaks with wisdom and compassion about life. Troy is the kindest and most endearing person who uses his intelligent wit to bring laughter and light to those around him. Although he is a fierce warrior, he needs our help to meet this challenge. Dunedin VFW Post #2550 is hosting a Benefit Dinner for Troy on August 19, 2024, from 4 pm to 7 pm with music provided until 9 pm to raise funds so we can give him as many weapons as possible in his arsenal during his treatment. We are seeking donations for Fundraising Baskets and Silent Auction items for the Benefit as well as gift cards, gift certificates, or in-kind gifts such as certificates for services like a haircut, lawn service, oil change, etc. You may also give to this cause in the form of monetary donations by contributing to this Go Fund Me Page which will be ongoing even after the Benefit. Thank you in advance for your kind consideration and generosity. Remember, it’s important for us to “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” -Gandhi
