Lucky to be walking. Seeking RESTITUTIONS. Namely, Pro bono legal aid for 1. a hit-and-ditch car crash I suffered 2. Filing OCC complaints and receiving restitutions for an illegal loan fraud incident 3. Proper settlements, including pain and suffering, from my time as a gig laborer with Amazon And the funds to weather a likely unavoidable bankruptcy, so that I can afford to seek new career placement and maintain housing arrangements. In all, I’ll need about 60,000 in order to break even from this time period - but anything helps. At the least, support that makes my search for equitable, salaried work possible is most desired. Lowdown on the events here Crisis Timeline December 2024: The Set Up Surprise! ‘07 Tucson T-Boned in a Car Crash. At-fault driver runs away. I sustain neurological trauma and shoulder the financial blow. Vehicle destroyed. Urgent care recommends I visit the emergency room, which I avoid due to a $1500 co-pay I cannot afford. January 2024 Coerced into taking a loan product in order to provide transportation access to my household of 5, where I am the most able bodied. Begin leasing a vehicle I could not afford and took the first job I could find at Amazon, primarily doing gig labor in order to foot the bills, which luckily I was approved for just before the first crash February 2024 Another surprise! Finds out the loan agreement I signed for transportation access was fraudulent. Over the coming weeks they initiate the process of illegally garnishing every penny I earn. My savings go poof. I am more vulnerable than ever. March 2024: Complications Amazon sends me down a road not maintained by any official authority in an intensely rural area (read: sundown town). Vehicle becomes stuck on an inconspicuously muddy road, deep in wooded area and it is nearly 5pm. I call for help and Amazon’s emergency line hangs up on me. Am harassed by a local property owner (yes, he is) but luckily another Amazon driver is in the area, sees me, flashes his firearm in order to get the guy to back off, and spends 40 minutes helping me wedge out before he has to leave. Rain begins, I call the State Troopers, and it begins getting darker. Takes the authorities more than an hour to even locate me. They attempt to wedge me out and connect me to a towing service who unearths me 3 hours later in exchange for the last of my bill money (he could have asked for much more, thankful for that tbh). Arrived 6h after getting stuck to return packages to Amazon for a shift scheduled to have ended 5h earlier. I’m shaken, somewhat traumatized, but grateful it wasn’t far worse. May 2024 It got worse, however. At the month’s beginning, Amazon sent me yet again down a road not maintained by any official authority in an intensely rural area (read: another sundown town). I attempted to communicate with the package recipient through both text and audio call before arriving on the property with no success. I noted that the Package recipient wanted the package delivered to their front door. I exited my vehicle, entered the fence and began to approach the porch at which point the front door was opened by a figure out of view and two large dogs rushed my person - one black and one brown. The black one bit me on the left wrist, breaking my skin and causing immediate bleeding and swelling. The resident did not come outside to assess the situation or to assist me. Afraid to call this area’s police force in fear of retaliation, I spent the following 30 minutes attempting to file an incident report and then rushed myself to the nearest emergency room for necessary medical care. I am injected with inoculations in 9 different places on my body to the tune of more than $31,000. Fortunately I have medical insurance. June 2024 I am notified by my medical insurance company that my policy had been terminated a matter of weeks before my attack. I was fully unaware of this during my hospital visit. I am now personally liable for the medical bill in excess of more than $31000. Graciously, I receive a discount bringing the bill down to about $19,000. I fight with Amazon’s insurance department every day in order to get them to properly address the matter. As of July, I’m still fighting. July 2024 And wow! Another car crash on June 30th. I received a ticket for $700 and crashed both my car and someone else’s brand new Honda, worth more than some folks’ college tuition. Great news- my car insurance has terminated its policy with me and refuses to reinstate it. Looks I’m going have to file for bankruptcy, which is oddly more relieving as a prospect than where I was in June.
