Hello Brothers and Sisters, It is never easy to write and inform when one of our own has come under fire at the mercy of this Department. Officer Eng #17206 formerly OBCC Intake now AMKC Intake has been suspended based on an incident taking place Wednesday, July 19th, responded to an alarm in which involved an Assault On Staff. Officer Eng did what anyone else would do and sprang into action to save, rescue and preserve the life of another. Unfortunately, at the time of the response, the officer requesting assistance had already suffered a broken nose and was seeking immediate backup. In the midst, Officer Eng was also assaulted but that did not stop him from performing his duties to the best of his abilities and rendering aid to his fellow brothers and sister in distress. About still maintaining and restoring order in this department is very challenging but we come to work every day in prayers that we go back home safely unscathed. However, once again we are chastised for doing what's right to prevent violence and harm but being subjected to everyday abuse like this is not what we enlisted for. I ask everyone to give what we can to our Brother Eng in need, who comes to work like all of us, not for himself but to provide for his family just as we all do. A harsh reminder that this can be anyone of us.
