Zena has to have her eye removed on July 10th.  We got the shocking news on Wednesday after her ophthalmologist appointment in Toronto. She has glaucoma and has to lose that eye due to the pressure that’s already built up within it, and I need to do all I can to prevent her other eye from being affected as long as possible.  It all happened so fast. Her eye looked just a little bit red/irritated one night, then completely grey the next. She had 3 vet visits last week with no answers, and then the ophthalmologist appointment Wednesday that determined it was primary glaucoma (which is common in her breeds).  She’s completely blind in that eye already and in a lot of pain until it’s removed due to the pressure in her eye being higher than 50mmHg (Normal eye pressure is within a maximum of 20-28mmHg). So on July 10th she is going in to have a procedure called enucleation, where they will remove her right eye. This procedure is estimated to range between $2,470.42 to $3,088.03.  I am doing all I can to figure out how to afford her treatment in such a short amount of time, but I think I need to reach out and ask for some help. These past couple of weeks have been so fast and so much to process. All I know is, Z needs this surgery and she is in pain until it’s removed… so I need to ask for help.
