Hi let me tell you a story. I am the mother of Zavier Leonard a D1 college football player that was targeted and wrongly accused of SA. We are seeking help to help pay for legal fees of an ongoing civil suit. Here is his story. In 2024 Zavier Leonard (18y) former offensive lineman of the San Diego State Aztec football team was accused of a crime he did not commit. Zavier was falsely accused of being apart of a gang rape, involving 4 other athletes who were also wrongfully accused. These false accusations were made in October of 2024, and brought to the public eye on June 3rd, 2024. The LA times wrote an article about the case because the SDSU women’s track team had brought the allegations to their attention not the woman involved. Even though members of the track team were not present their allegations were taken as fact with no proof. Zavier and the other men had their lives flipped completely upside down in a matter of hours Following the release of the LA times article, Zavier’s name was released to the public and he started to receive extreme backlash from students and faculty. Terrible things were being said to him over an accusation that was not proven. Zavier was NEVER ARRESTED, contacted, or questioned by police or anyone at SDSU!! Zavier retained a criminal defense attorney to protect himself. Less than 24 hours of a civil lawsuit being filed that was highly publicized and with still NO criminal charges the coaches of the Aztec football team sent Zavier home and he was suspended from school. Even though he was told “We want to support you through this.” that quickly changed. Finally on December 7, 2024 the SD District Attorney chose not to move forward with the case based on no evidence that supported the make believe accusations that accuser Jane Doe (her attorney released her name on Twitter) and her friends made up. Several witnesses confirm Zavier never initiated their interactions, video evidence found and even Jane’s friends confirming that she had not been telling the truth. After some time and a hard fight he was able to find a new school to call home and a team to welcome him. They looked at the evidence and welcomed him. It was clear this was an attack built in someone’s embarrassment and desire to make a name for herself and fatten her pockets. Someone in this group had just signed an NFL contract. False accusations ruin lives and traumatize those that are accused. We need your help to make a change. We need your help to pay for the legal fees for the current high profile civil case. Andrew Miltenberg and his team have taken Zavier’s case. We neeed your help to continue to defend against the lies that damaged his future and reputation.
