Hello everyone! My name is Zain and I’m a 21 year old trans man. Although I first came out as transgender in early middle school, fear of acceptance (or rather rejection) had caused me to push back my transition as to accommodate the feelings of others. I had a debilitating fear of confusing people, making them uncomfortable, or losing people that were dear to me as my body changed. This, however, has ultimately had the opposite effect, as my mental health has taken a dive the longer I go without gender affirming treatment. Specifically, top surgery and has been my number one transition goal since I first came out, as my chest is the biggest source of my dysphoria and years of unsafe binding has deeply affected my ribs, chest, and back. I am in constant pain whether it be from wearing a binder or from tape binding causing scarring all over my chest; I would love to give my body the rest it’s been waiting for. I am finally moving out of state in a week, and i FINALLY have my top surgery consultation scheduled (!!!) allowing me to truly start over fresh and release the fears that I’ve held about transitioning for good. I would love to finally live in comfort, in more ways than one. Unfortunately, insurance will not cover my surgery with this particular surgeon, so my surgery would cost around 6,500. ALL profits made in this fund will go not only towards getting my top surgery goals met, but also to finally starting hormone treatment as well. Anything, and I mean anything truly helps so much.
