Our 14 year old son Zack has been given the opportunity to join a small group of baseball players and coaches from the United States representing  NorCal Travel Baseball (NCTB) during a trip to the Dominican Republic at the end of the year.  The group is going on a charitable / community service centric trip (including playing some baseball) to the Dominican Republic during the last week of December 2015.  The group will be going to rural impoverished areas in the Domincan to donate baseball equipment and supplies to areas in the most need. The baseball portion of the trip will include 14U and 16U teams consisting of kids from the US playing against kids from the Domincan Republic in the same age groups.  There will be (5) games played between the same age group teams and (1) game where players from both countries will be combined on the same team and have the chance to play together. We are seeking to raise $ 3,300 USD which will be used to help offset Zack's roundtrip airfare and travel related expenses from San Francisco to the Dominican Republic as well as the per player cost associated with being able to be a part of this once in a lifetime experience.  Those additioanl expenses other than airfare will cover Zack's lodging, food, transportation etc. while in the Dominican Republic / on the trip.  Zack will be traveling with fellow teammates and coaches from the Bay Area and neither of his parents or his family members will be going with him on this trip - he is going to experience this trip with his teammates and the coaches himself. We are seeking assistance because we want to be able to make sure our son can experience what this trip will afford him personally in way of life lessons, cultural awareness and his own personal growth and development as young man at this stage in his life journey.
