our friend Z is a 31-year-old father of a young daughter, a recent college graduate, a former Peace Corps counterpart, and a dear friend of mine who was recently diagnosed with an aggressive liver cancer and in urgent need of surgery and support. Z was my counterpart, meaning we worked directly together on projects that supported his community, for over two years, while I was in the Peace Corps, and we have been close ever since. He is kind, passionate, and unstoppable when it comes to supporting his community and loved ones. He has a passion for agriculture and community development and he recently graduated with a degree from the university in Qatar. However, due to recent economic problems in Ghana, he has been unable to find work and has been dealing with serious health issues. After over a year of undiagnosed health problems, Z was just diagnosed with a cancer and needs surgery to remove the parts of his liver . The cost of the surgery in Ghana is only $5,500 but that is far beyond what he can afford and he will also require money for aftercare, medication, and general living expenses while he recovers. Z is young and ambitious and deserves a chance at a long and prosperous life, I would so appreciate if you can join me in supporting z as he fights to beat this. -Mickey Sobel
