Hello, dearest family and friends! I am doing this fundraiser to help Yesenia Guevara and her family with medical bills and daily expenses for her, her disabled (paralyzed) mother, and two small children 9 & 2. Yesenia was recently diagnosed with a rare nerve disease called the "GUILLAIN-BARRE SYNDROM" aka GBS. This is a very rare medical condition in which the immune system attacks the nerves in your entire body from head to toe. This disease is not curable. A little story about Yesenia if you haven't met this amazing young lady. She came into my life when she was 19 yr old and now she is 33. Yesenia worked for me since then at my Allstate Agency until the day I sold it in 2024. Yesenia is a tough young lady and had a very rough and sad life throughout the years since I've met her. I've witnessed this young lady grow up. Her loyalty, kindness, caring, love, and strength are unbelievable not just to me but to everyone she met. She is not only my staff but became my family. Her older brother died when she was a little girl in a house fire; her mother was shot in the back and has been in a wheelchair since the day she was born; her father passed away about 5 years ago; and she is a sole breadwinner for her sons of 9 and 2 year old; and total disabled mother. Her mother is an illegal immigrant and received no government assistance. Now this rare disease that made her hospitalized since February 2024 right after her 33rd birthday celebration. I remember her as the strongest young lady who drove her disabled mother to Ben Taub Hospital and carried her in & out of the car every time they needed to go anywhere from checkups to grocery stores. Now she is not able to do so. She can no longer help her mother bathing to take care of her boys not to mention to hold her sons ever again, especially finances. Last week when I first stepped foot in St Lukes's Hospital to visit her I BROKE DOWN and couldn't believe my eyes. I tried to hold it in but I could not. I was in the room when the neurologist Dr. Anderson with Baylor Hospital did an EGG test on her nerves and he shook his head. He said that her nerves are bad and since this lasted more than 9 months it's considered a Chronic GBS.
