I never thought I would I would create one of these accounts but here we are. I’m doing this on behalf of my wonderful mum. Currently my Yai (grandmother in Thai) is nearing the end of her life and my mother has flown back to Thailand to care for her. She is 81 years old and has dementia and recently fell and broke her hip along with the other health complications she has at the point in her life. This sacrifice means my mum has had to more or less suspend her small business here in Scotland meaning she has no income at this time. My mum sends money home to Thailand monthly (as many immigrants do) to support her family and this time she cannot do this. The remote area of Thailand where my family live has no means of carers or social services help. All medication, equipment and general day to day costs are paid for by family. As an NHS nurse it really hits home seeing my family suffer financially just to ensure their grandmother can die comfortably at home, when we don’t need to make any sort of financial transaction that could bankrupt us here in the UK. My family have paid for a hoist to mobilise her, a hospital bed and more to make sure she is comfortable. And although she has what she needs now, money will soon run out as it does for many families in these small rural areas of Thailand. We just want her to be comfortable. So I’m looking at you. Anyone. That can help me family at the very difficult time. Help my mum and please donate anything you can spare. Thank you for reading Jen
