I am an educator in Greeley, Colorado, and I feel deeply honored to have had the privilege of teaching Yahir Chairez-Salazar, affectionately known as "Chino." Chino, an exceptional athlete and brilliant student, recently endured a life-altering car accident, resulting in partial loss of one of his legs. As a 2024 graduate of Greeley Central High School, he was celebrated for his accomplishments in the classroom, on the football field, on the wrestling mat, and on the track, earning him the Boettcher Scholarship to pursue his dream of becoming an engineer at the Colorado School of Mines.
