Hiya! My name is Wynne! I have a very big heart...literally. I was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy when I was 12 years old after I fainted during physical education in 8th grade. My life has changed drastically ever since it happened. As you can see in the echocardiogram below, it shows that my heart muscles are too thick, this is due to a hereditary genetic diseased that I began to develop. This condition causes my heart to heart muscles to grow abnormally thick. My cardiologist told me that I would need an ICD (implantable cardioverter defibrillator) to prevent sudden cardiac death.  This is a picture of me before surgery 5 years ago...thinking about pizza...I suffered from constant day by day chest pain for years. I was in the routine cycle of going to the cardiologist and the ER room because of it and after years of my regular cardiologist telling me that I was fine he finally sent me to Stanford hospital where they looked at my heart themselves. They did a heart catherization to acess the pressures in my heart and look at the heart internally. It showed that the pressures in my heart were high and that my whole entire heart was too thick to function normally which causes all of my chest pain. This is me eating ice cream after my heart catherization. So now, 5 years later, I am now almost 18 years old and I have been put onto the UNOS pediactric transplant list. However it has become apparent to me that my mother, who is my number 1 supporter is struggling to pay my medical expenses. I know times are tough for everybody and not only me but my family appreciates every single donation given.  Although I have not had a transplant yet, when the time comes my mom would have to take three months off of work, and with two little sisters it would become a great stress factor in my mom's life. She has never let me worry about the financial issues in my family however it became clear  to me that she has become worried when I saw her sitting at the dinner table wondering where she was going to get all of this money from. I am also in my first year of college and working a part time job however I know that it will still not be enough. All of the money donated will go to my mom to help pay for my bills and also to keep my family financially stable when I do go into a transplant surgery, whenever it may be. Thank you so much for reading this, and I appreciate everything whether it is a donation or your kind thoughts.
