Hi, my name is Kara Assid and I am raising funds for my friend, Jenny Neiwerth and her family of six. I met Jenny as her son's elementary teacher and we have remained friends. I admire the way Jeny loves and goes above and beyond for her children.Jenny's diagnosis of Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) came as a shock. She went to the ER on July 5th, 2024 for abdominal pain. Doctors found an elevated white blood cell count and held her for further tests. She underwent immediate chemotherapy and is now on medication to treat CML. This medication results in a suppressed immunity and she is following strict protocols to keep her safe from infection. Jenny also has a lack of appetite, very low energy and is suffering from severe head pain. She is unable to work her part-time job and will not be able to work until in remission. Her fiance, Jesus, is working full time and he and his parents have been caring for the children.We can fight with Jenny.
