I am setting up this go fund me account for one my close friends and her husband. Chris and Samantha Williams are two of the most selfless people I have ever known. I met Samantha back in 2011 as co-workers. Samantha was an occupational therapist and hands down the most passionate occupational therapist I had and have ever had the pleasure to work with. I can not even begin to tell the stories of the hundreds of people and families Sam has help in times of need. Sam goes above and beyond on a daily basis to help physically-less-fortunate individuals be as independent as possible. Sam met her husband Chris and shortly thereafter they were married. To say they were "meant to be" is an understatement. When Sam met Chris he was quadriplegic from a work accident several years prior but to Sam he was just Chris and the love of her life. Sam and Chris never seemed to miss a beat and made it very obvious that there was nothing they couldn't do. Sam and Chris were married and then welcomed their son, Maverick in the summer of 2014. So here's the reason for this go fund me account. Sam and Chris were on there way home from supper on October 21st in Chris's wheelchair-accessible van when the van suddenly caught fire. Thanks to quick-thinking bystranders their family of 3 got out of the van safely. However, Chris's van sustained a considerable amount of damage. For those of you who don't know, making the necessary adaptations to a van that Chris can get in and drive independently is very expensive. When Sam told me the news my heart sunk! This is a woman who works so hard every day to make strangers more independent and to improve their quality of life and never asks for anything in return. I instantly wanted to help their family in any way I could but I knew that I could not do it alone. Please help me raise money to help Sam and Chris pay for adaptations to a new van to keep Chris independent and to keep their busy family on the go!
