Decades-long Olney resident, life-long music coordinator, and former music instructor at Olney Central College, Steve Marrs, has developed and promoted the arts community through music, theater, and as one of the founding members of the Olney Arts Council. He is thrilled to to develop an event in Olney that will draw people from the community and across the nation to our rural, Southeastern Illinois town for a bluegrass and more festival. Steve, in collaboration with the Olney Arts Council, is starting with a one-day event and hoping to grow it into a weekend-long entertainment-filled festival for the whole family. This festival is centered around traditional music featuring bluegrass artists and local musicians. The goal of packing the motels and overwhelming the restaurants with customers, contributing to the growing tourist attractions that Olney has to offer, and building upon our local arts foundation is the driving force behind this festival. He would greatly appreciate your financial contributions to make this spectacular idea an annual event.
