Hi my name is Jason Kunst and I am from West Boylston, MA I met Wayne Andrews a few years ago while volunteering in Little League baseball and Boy Scouts. Our children quickly became friends and played together outside of baseball and scouts.Wayne has shared his knowledge and skills of outdoor living and he has become a great source of information and inspiration as well as a good friend. Wayne spends much of his time volunteering with youth activities and his absence will be greatly missed by many local youths. As a friend, I hoped to help Wayne in his time of need and came to the LFEBridge website as a source of help. Any and all funds raised will be used to pay uninsured medical bills as well as uninsured auto insurance expenses. The funds will also be used to pay the day to day expenses Wayne has in raising two children by refereeing ice hockey, lacrosse and field hockey games.Direct from Wayne with some more info...Hi. My name is Wayne Andrews. I'm a single father of ten year old twins (girl and boy) and we live in Central MA. All my income to support my family comes from refereeing ice hockey (year round), as well as seasonally reffing girls' lacrosse, field hockey and softball. I'm an active member of CMHOA, USA Hockey, VHL, EMWLUA, BFHUA, and USSSA. I referee throughout all of New England and New York. We have no health insurance coverage, and I have recently incurred over $10K in medical bills from an automotive accident which occurred at 6:15 am, on Saturday October 24, 2015, as I was heading to referee ice hockey in Tewksbury, MA. I was travelling in the slow lane of I-190N in Sterling, MA. It was just getting light outside and there was a lot of fog that morning. Unbeknownst to me there was a dark vehicle with no lights on, parked in slow lane. According to the Worcester T&G it was a Toyota Sienna van which was disabled after striking a deer in the fast lane. I swerved to avoid the disabled van however in doing so my 2000 Mountaineer immediately grabbed and rolled over sideways five and a half times down an embankment. My seatbelt had locked me in my seat as I rolled over the highway and down the bank. I was conscious and immediately began praying that my worst fears would not be realized. I realized that I was hanging upside down in my car and breathing was difficult at best but I was so thankful to be alive. I could hear vehicles and voices closing in and I was grateful somebody had called 911 on my behalf. I heard a man's voice by my driver's side door asking if I was okay and if anyone else was in the vehicle. I could not get enough air in my lungs to speak so I reached for some dirt and gravel and threw it towards the flashlight beam of light so they knew I was alive but unable to speak. I was told emergency units were on the way. As I began to regain my senses I was able to move my arms and legs and hands and feet and I realized things could be a lot worse. When the fire department arrived they needed the Jaws of Life to remove me from the vehicle. I suffered a fractured left scapula and seven broken ribs, many around my heart. At best I am looking at 6 to 8 weeks recovery however, during that time I will have no income to support myself and children, nor do I have much hope of paying my medical bills. I am not the kind of person that looks for handouts, however I do need your help at this time. I know many of you have your own financial issues, and would find it difficult to help me out financially, so if you would keep me in your prayers that I may make a speedy and full recovery I would appreciate it. I will be back on the ice as soon as the doctors tell me I can, but until then I hope you may find it in your heart to help me and my children out in this time of need.
