UPDATE 07/12/2024** Frenky was discharged from the ER today, he received lots of medications and hopefully being home also aids in a quicker recovery. The Vet bills also added another $7,000.00 making it a total of $14,000. I personally want to thank those who reached out and donated to Frenky’s health. The good news is after recovery, Frenky will be able to work again without any complications! K9 Frenky is a private contracting Explosive Detection dog born on July 11th, 2024. Frenky graduated from Custom Canine Unlimited located in Gainesville GA and also holds a Certification with United Police Work Dog Association or (UPWDA). Frenky has a passion for work. He’s worked at multiple School Districts, musical events, residential/commercial properties, and other special events throughout California ensuring the safety of many. Today I had a very close call While working in San Francisco, I his handler noticed Frenky was not his happy self. He was extremely uncomfortable and there was something very wrong. He was giving signs he was in excruciating pain. He had abnormal panting, extreme signs of discomfort, and a swollen abdomen. Frenky was rushed to the ER at around 12pm and is currently at Sage emergency in San Francisco - he is still under observation and current conditions are to be determined. He will remain there overnight to be monitored for further evaluation and treatment to ensure he is well and okay and he’s safely out of the woods. As Frenky’s handler, I am respectfully asking for assistance to help us with the medical bills. Frenky is my absolute best friend and right hand man, he’s the most friendly, hardworking, talented K9 who loves to work and socialize with the public that he protects. I need him here with me. So far, the Vet bill is $7,023.29 I am requesting $10,000 as anything extra will be going to the nonprofit~ “Protecting K9 Heroes” organization to help keep other Working dogs safe in the line of their duties to ensure any medical needs can be covered for any unexpected medical they need, just like Frenky. Anything that is donated is immensely appreciated and I will keep everyone updated on further information once I’m updated on any changes or improvements. Anything helps and no donation is too small. Respectfully, Edwin Thorne & K9 Frenky.
