A little about me...I am in my mid 40's, and a veteran, having served in 2 military branches (USMC from 1996-2000, and USAF from 2001-2005) with one tour in Iraq in 2003. I have done various work since my service, but predominantly have made my living as a background actor (SAG-Aftra member). I get regular headaches for which I am prescribed medication, and back issues, that make other work difficult to do, so background work has kept me afloat. Then came Covid, which completely shut down all available work for me, and it never fully recovered... I went from working at least a couple days a week, sometimes much more, to going weeks between a booking. Credit cards went from zero balance, to now nearly maxed. Now, we have been hit with a SAG strike, meaning bookings went from rare, to nonexistent. While the reasoning for the strike may be good and valid concerns for the industry, it is often overlooked that it is us "little guys", the low earners, that carry the heaviest toll in strikes like this. Now, I am close to collapse, with no income, and credit cards that still must be paid...... Not knowing what to do, I decided to try writing this on a long shot of hope. Any help is a blessing
