My father is in the ICU and has become paralyzed after a spinal cord injury during a car accident. The primary goal of this LFEBridge campaign is to support his recovery & reduce his financial stress in the immediate term. I am writing this heartfelt appeal on behalf of my father, who is currently fighting for his life in the ICU after a devastating spinal cord injury. This unimaginable accident has left him with a C5 vertebrae injury, resulting in paralysis and the loss of mobility in his legs, impaired bowel and bladder function, weakened upper body strength, and limited hand usage. The accident itself was a traumatic event, leaving his car completely totaled. When he regained consciousness, he found himself confined to a hospital bed, with no recollection of how he got there. Our family has been shaken to the core by this tragic turn of events, and we are now faced with the harsh reality that his life will never be the same again. My father has always been the pillar of strength in our family. As the main breadwinner, he has worked tirelessly to provide for us and ensure that all our needs are met. However, this life-altering injury has left him unable to return to work, leaving us in a financial crisis in the immediate term. The estimated amount of medical expenses, ongoing rehabilitation, in-home nursing care, and other longterm needs are overwhelming. This is not even accounting for the home mortgage, utility bills, and daily living expenses we would have to cover as well. The primary goal of this LFEBridge campaign is to support my father's recovery and reduce his financial stress in the immediate term as we seek more healthcare coverage, make longterm plans for his care & stabilize our family finances in the absence of his ability to work. Our aim is to raise funds that will directly contribute to securing our family’s necessary bills & living expenses; as well as his out of pocket medical expenses. We will start with a smaller goal to support whatever we can at this moment. As a family, we are determined to ensure that my father receives the best possible care and support during this challenging period. We are exploring various rehabilitation options, working with experienced healthcare professionals, and seeking out cutting-edge treatments to help him regain as much independence and quality of life as possible. However, the costs associated with these treatments and ongoing care are exorbitant, placing an immense burden on our shoulders.
