Sarah is a dedicated and loving single mother of 4 boys (3, 11, 14, & and 17), who has been facing a series of rare, life threatening illnesses and debilitating pain over the last 4 years. She is now dependent on disability income as her only financial source, which barely covers her basic living expenses. Prior to her illnesses becoming so severe, Sarah was working as a nurse for 20 years, all through Covid, and was a strong healthy athlete. To afford treatment and get the help she needs to live, she needs help to cover significant out of pocket medical expenses. In 2019, Sarah suffered from severe black mold exposure during pregnancy that triggered an autoimmune response that led her to hold over 70lbs of edema, suffer severe respiratory distress and myocarditis making it difficult to lay flat or take a deep breath for over a year. In 2024, she returned home from a women’s retreat with severe stomach issues that persisted for months, and multiple MDs and Naturopaths determined that Sarah had contracted parasites, which is a lengthy treatment process. Meanwhile, Sarah had to set aside her own needs to be by her oldest son who suffered a traumatic brain injury and was in a coma from an accident. Not long after his miraculous recovery, Sarah was hospitalized for 3 weeks in 2024, with inexplicable, debilitating abdominal pain and an inability to digest any solid foods, and it was discovered that she had a congenital connective tissue disorder (MALS) where her diaphragm dropped down and cut off the celiac artery’s blood supply to all of her digestive organs. Sarah endured robotic MALS release surgery on June 1, 2024 which was minimally successful, yet more procedures are required to restore normal digestive functioning. Sarah still suffers from the parasites that have persisted and returned due to being on high glucose Total Parental Nutrition via PICC line for the last 3 months being unable to tolerate digesting solid foods since April 14, 2024. Like many people, Sarah has not felt comfortable asking others for financial help, yet a few people she has let in to witness her suffering are stepping forward to ask for help on her behalf. We also appreciate prayers for Sarah’s complete healing and strength to endure the process. Sarah strives to live a loving, peaceful God focused life, to love and support her children, return to her job as a nurse, and continue to serve her church and community.
