Dear Community, As a proud native of Harrisburg, I have always believed in the power of our community and the resilience of its people. Today, I come to you with a heavy heart, but also with hope and determination to rebuild what I have lost. My name is Lhayana Dallas, and I am the owner of Honeybush Raw Smoothie Bar, a small business that I established during the challenging times of the pandemic. With unwavering passion and dedication, I embarked on this entrepreneurial journey to bring a taste of health and joy to our beloved city. In 2024, just as we were approaching our two-year anniversary, a devastating fire engulfed the Broad Street Market, leaving behind ashes and shattered dreams. The loss of the market and the stand I poured my heart and soul into has been incredibly difficult to process and accept. It was an event we were ill-prepared for, and the impact has been even more overwhelming as I navigate this chapter of my life, now six months pregnant.While I have managed to set up a temporary stall in the market courtyard, the challenges have become increasingly daunting. Uncertainty looms over my future, and I am unsure of how long I can sustain this arrangement. However, amidst the trials, I have been deeply moved and grateful for the overwhelming love and support our community has shown me during this trying time. Additionally, the heartbreaking truth is that our business insurance may not cover the full extent of our losses, leaving me with an overwhelming financial burden that I am struggling to bear.
