Hi, my name is Veronica and as I approach my birthday, I find myself reflecting on the true meaning of celebration and the importance of cherishing our loved ones. This time, my heart is filled with both gratitude and concern as we navigate through life’s challenges. From the memories of my childhood, one figure stands out vividly: my Uncle Bijay Karki. His genuine honesty and unwavering commitment to bringing joy to everyone around him have left a lasting impression on my heart. As many of you’d know, my uncle is battling Colon Cancer. He was diagnosed towards the beginning of 2024 and as life would happen, a series of misfortunes left him abandoned, sick, and financially crippled to see his otherwise brighter days. However, his strength and determination inspire me every day. To celebrate my birthday, I’ve chosen this day to reach out to you and raise funds to support his ongoing recovery. Currently, my uncle is in Kathmandu, Nepal, far away from most of his immediate family members who are in India, and the United States. In his treatment journey, he has been given three sessions of chemotherapy and has been under observation for the future growth of cancer cells. The doctors suggest future sessions on chemotherapy, but they await tests to go ahead with the procedure. He is in a tough spot to plan this alone since he has exhausted his savings. His current housing situation in a local motel keeps him away from human help, interaction, or the medical safe and soundness which anyone during this ailment would want to feel. Crippled by uncertainty, dread, and being away from family has exacerbated his healing and recovery. His body is fragile to recover, and he keeps praying for a miracle every day. To mark my birthday, I want to help him at a distance through your love and support. Hence, I make a humble request to join me make a positive impact on his life by contributing to his cancer treatment and recovery. Every contribution, regardless of the size will be a blessing for his healing process. Your kind contributions will directly go towards covering medical expenses, accommodation, and other support services for my uncle.
