My son Deklan Simmerling had to have Heart surgery at 4months old. I was told at 20weeks pregnant that he had double inlet left ventricle . We were lucky to wait for surgery till he was 4 months old but many children go for it much earlier. After spending weeks in PICU at the Edmonton Stollery Hospital I realized I needed to give back. Watching all the babies come in with their families made me think that it would be nice to bring a little warmth and comfort in with some flannel blankets. I'd like to raise money to make these each year to donate them to this unit . My goal would be $500 but I would be greatful for anything. Thank you in advice! Love, Deklan and the Simmerling family
