I swear this keeps happening to us... In January I was laid off. I was concerned, since about that time 250k other people were just laid off. But I had some money saved up, got several months in severance, and I was pretty sure we could hold on 6 months or so. I should have known better. This is the third time in my life I've lost everything. It's now starting the 8th month. My retirement money is gone. My savings are gone. My wife works at a Japanese restaurant and I Door Dash. It doesn't make very much. This is the first month I've not been able to make my mortgage payment. We're going to have to put the house up for sale. It's doubled in value, but that's still not enough to get a new home that fits 5 people, 2 cats, and a dog. Not without a job that says you can pay the mortgage. At this point I have applied to every job I could even remotely do within a 100 mile radius. I'm disabled, so some jobs aren't going to work very well, but I've still applied. I have 20 years in IT and UX Research /Design. 20+ years in writing content of all kind. So far I haven't been qualified enough to work: Call centers Hotel front desk Junior UX roles Senior UX roles Any type of writing that pays Theme park survey giver I know I'm not alone in this right now, but sometimes it can be easy to forget. I know things will eventually turn around. But I need help for us to hang on. That's what I'm hoping to do. Hang on for dear life until something works out. If you would rather buy something I made, you can buy some of my books. Several hundred of each would be awesome! Thanks for looking.
