Hello, dear friends of Trisha Jeffrey. This campaign has been started on Trisha's behalf. As you may or may not know, she is now fully engaged in a battle with cancer. Multiple Myeloma is a cancer of the blood. It causes collections of abnormal plasma cells to accumulate in the bone marrow, where they interfere with the production of normal blood cells. At this point, Multiple Myeloma is not curable BUT it is treatable. Trisha is currently undergoing radiation and chemotherapy. Her doctors are very encouraged by her progress thus far. And furthermore, Trisha is strong, positive and moving ahead like an absolute warrior. The plan is to knock her disease into remission and then kickstart her healthy bone marrow production by undergoing stem cell transplants... and THEN, it's back to a good, healthy, long life. For right now, however, it's nothing short of a true battle. But again, early indications are quite good.Trisha needs the support of her community... emotional support, to be sure, but also monetary. Thankfully, her AEA health insurance is doing as it should and covering most of her treatments. It is not yet clear about the stem cell treatments coverage, however. She is absolutely planning (can't wait!) to go back to her job performing with MOTOWN: The Musical in the late winter/early spring. Until then, however, she is on her own, financially. In addition to the possibly sky-high costs of the stem cell transplants, Trisha must maintain a VERY clean and specific diet, pay for rent, transportation, yoga and tai-chi, all of life's expenses, and most importantly, for whatever treatments her excellent team of doctors at the Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin recommends which her insurance WON'T cover. If you can...Give a little, give a lot... what you can. Trisha needs the support of loved ones. (And, as you know,... all sassy and proud... she ain't neccessarily gonna ask for it herself). All proceeds from this campagn will go directly to Trisha. Also, any comments left here will go to her directly. Share your thoughts... but please remember she may be a bit overwhelmed to respond immediately. With sincere thanks,David Truskinoff
