Hello Friends and Family. Thank you all who donated to this fund; as many may already know Tripp passed on Monday, (obituary to follow update). We are still planning to use the funds donated to pay for copays and other medical expenses as well as any funeral expenses that we may need. However, we are in the process of setting up a 501 c 3 Memorial fund that will be used to give scholarships to those that cannot afford to attend gaming conventions - anyone who knew Tripp knows that board gaming was his heart <3; So, any extra donated to this fund will be used to support that fund. I will send information as soon as it is finalized with IRS, etc...Again, I thank you all for your generosity of prayers, words of encouragement and love. Lorren (Tripp) Hathaway Fay III, age 59, passed away on July 31, 2024. He grew up in Laramie, Wyoming and moved to Colorado in 1995 where he spent the rest of his years. He is survived by his wife Tracey Fay of 26 years, son Kelvin (with fiance Carla Montgomery), and daughters Trinity and Liberty as well as his Aunt Lucy (Diane Fay of Denver) and sister Leslie Frederick (Dave) and brother Lowell Fay of Utah, brothers-in-law David Willson (Heather) and Michael Whitford, and sisters-in-law Robyn Osgood (Hawker) and Jessica Wicker (Buck), multiple friends he considered family, plus many nieces and nephews. Tripp always had a story to tell, and did so with a charm and charisma that had everyone around him roped in. He loved his work with computers, reading, gaming and concerts. He graduated from Metropolitan University; he was very proud to work for Microsoft on the Window’s 95 project. He then worked at many different Denver area companies including Echostar, Teletech, Transamerica, Brandwise, and finally Nuaxis Innovations (at National Park Service). He was a maker of pizza rolls, elaborately decorated cakes and was always learning some new skill. Tripp was the type of person who always drew in everyone around him, made the outliers feel included, and taught without people feeling like they were being lectured. His effervescence overflowed and he cared a lot for people. A huge thanks to the awesome staff at UC Health Highlands Ranch and Denver Hospice for their amazing care at the end of his life. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 5th at 1:30pm at Discover Community Church (13416 W Arbor Pl, Littleton, CO 80127). Not being a traditional guy, the family has chosen a less traditional route for his service. Please celebrate him by wearing a Hawaiian, gaming or concert shirt. Board gaming (Trippticon 2.0) will happen at the location immediately following the service. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided; please feel free to bring a snack or drink to share. Post from July 17, 2024 First of all, we are so grateful for all who have reached out. We really appreciate every kind word, gift, dollar and thought sent our way. During a hard time like this, knowing we have such an awesome cushion of love, makes everything just a little less hard. So thank you for all of that. Now on to the updates: On Monday (July 17) Tripp moved from the hospital to in home hospice care. He is settling well back home surrounded by all his favorite books, games and people. We would appreciate you all keeping him and our family in your prayers and if you feel called to visit, please reach out. Thank you again. Keep choosing joy. Room 407! We appreciate your friendship and love you ___original post is below: ...as most of you know Tripp has "GIST" cancer, unfortunately, it has take a turn and he got an infection while we were in Vegas for Trinity's birthday...he had to fly home instead of traveling home with us and has been in the hospital ever since...it's like one thing gets better then another thing pops up...we had hoped he will go into a rehab center by now, not sure when. I have not gotten any bills yet but expect the copays will definitely be a bit of a hardship...plus we were hit with hail and storm damage like a lot of others, that is causing some financial concerns. Any help is appreciated...also, Tripp is not really using his phone so if anyone wants to visit him in the hospital, write him a note that I can share on Facebook or snail mail to 10059 Oakleaf Way, Highlands Ranch, CO 80129 and of course as many prayers as we can get would all be wecomed!!! Thank you, we love you all!
