Hello friends, I’m not sure if I’m updating this in the right place.! I wanted to give everybody an update on my life with a broken arm. Today I’ve had some great progress. Not so surprising my hips were injured. Of course I fell on them. I didn’t break anything but I sure got all bruised and banged up and that hurts so much to sit and roll over and was just very uncomfortable. Also, the top of my right shoulder has been just aching and aching. Again it’s not broken but I think when I fell my arm jammed up into my shoulder. And luckily that pain is starting to subside. Also, I finally made some progress on these pain medication‘s. I quit taking them 7 days after the original accident, Horrible little things they give you the worst constipation, no matter what you take to try to avoid that. Most of you know I have kind of a tender belly anyway so that’s been very uncomfortable . So today I can say I finally am feeling a little better and back to just living with my broken arm. I have been given instructions by the doctor do not lift anything , do not touch or get pressure on my fingers. Don’t try to open the drawer with my little finger or try to use my broken arm to hold a jar and open it. Strict instructions do not use your fingers. Do not lift anything. OK Dr I got it. The doctor did tell me to start opening and closing my fingers and begin to get those stretching. So, that’s it the life of a woman with a broken arm. Thank you everyone for your gift and kind words I feel so blessed. Being self-employed the financial help is so critical thank you thank you thank you everyone. I changed my picture to one that I really love. I was headed out with marcus to go to Lake Tahoe camping with the kayak. And I hope to get my arm strong enough that I can go out and begin kayaking again. I find joy being in the ocean. Thanks, that’s all for now. I’ll keep you posted on my progress. best wishes, Janice original post: My incredible mother has tumbled into a hard spot thanks to a literal tumble while celebrating her birthday with her kids and grandkids. The result of that fall was her right arm being severely broken in two places which required extensive hardware to be placed during surgery. With medical and regular bills rapidly stacking the inability to work has left her in dire need of help from our friends and family to weather this storm and get back to life on her terms. Anyone who knows Janice knows she is a kind and exuberant person, generous as the day is long, and belies her age with her active approach to life. She is the most 'look on the brighter side' person I've ever known. She wants to get back to kayaking in the harbor, gardening, playing with her grandkids, and of course, working. But that is a longer road than anticipated and she needs a helping hand. Your donations will go directly to those monthly obligations that keep a roof over our heads and lights on until she can use her dominant arm again and begin the work she loves once more. If you've read this far, thank you. I hope that if you're able to do so, you can donate to help Jan push through this sudden hurdle and get back to the joyful and productive life she holds so dear. Thank you all :)
