Hi, My name is Mariah, I am the daughter of Melissa Mugford. I am trying to raise money for my mom so she can attend a trauma treatment facility to get the help that she needs. if anyone deserves it, it is her - Melissa live's to help people but she needs to get help and get back into recovery before she can help anyone. when she is clean & sober she shines because she has a purpose, she loves to care and help others. She means a lot to so many people and we would love to see her get the care she deserves and reestablish a life in recovery. shortly after 8 years clean and sober, Melissa found herself struggling with her trauma which manifested into substance use once again. For the past 2.5 years, Melissa has been struggling with chronic pain due to the need for intestinal surgery which had also been a factor in her falling back into patterns of use. Melissa recently suffered an overdose due to contaminated drugs and was hospitalized at which point she began asking for help and expressed her desire for help and urgent need for trauma treatment. We have reached out to several specialized treatment centers on Melissa's behalf and realize we need help in raising these funds to support her. Melissa has asked me to reach out to friends & families and ask for support in reaching her goal of getting her life and health back, as well as support in regaining a life of recovery and sobriety.
