Hello, my name is Dan and I am the husband of Tracey.Tracey is a devoted wife, loving mother of 4 and grandmother of 1. Her most captivating quality is her genuine love for life. She loves people and she loves animals. She appreciates the value of life and all that she meets are recipients of her kindness. Her smile captivates you. She loves everyone. She is an energetic, vibrant woman. She particularly loves helping people in need which she continues to do despite her own challenges.Unknown to her, her health has deteriorated drastically and the cause has been linked to multiple hereditary diseases such as Fatty Acid Oxidation Disorder (FAOD) and McArdles Dystrophy. The past two weeks has been spent mostly at Vancouver General Hospital and St. Pauls Hospital. She is being attended by the Neurology and Metabolic Disorder Teams, along with the occupational therapist, speech therapist, physiotherapist and dietitian. These hereditary diseases have progressed to the point that it is now causing degeneration of her Peripheral Nervous System. She has lost sensation throughout her body, and additional symptoms such as Dysphagia (difficulty swallowing - lack of pharyngeal sensation), Myoclunus (sudden and involuntary jerking of muscles or group of muscles). Simple things like breathing, eating and sleeping have become challenging. Mobility is now challenging with fatigue overwhelming. Every single second is lived with pain, and yet, she continues to be energetic and vibrant to support her family, friends and community.Money raised will support Tracey to cover ongoing medical expenses. From massage therapists and other rehabilitation services, to medication, medical equipment, travel expenses between Pemberton and Vancouver (2 Hours) and in-home care/hospice services.Thank you for your kind support and generosity.
