Hello, my name is Maycee Davis. I am fundraising for my mother, Tonya Harris. Myself and the rest of our family have unfortunately watched my mom’s health decline in front of our eyes. My mom has always suffered from headaches and stiffness in her neck for several years as long as I can remember, but who knew what she was really dealing with. On 05/01 of this year was the day of her first seizure. She was at work and was confused as to her surroundings and loss of memory. She was then hospitalized and referred to Neurologist for further testing. She was diagnosed with Epilepsy. After her diagnosis she was again hospitalized for 17 days after being transferred by air vac to Tulsa, OK. Her current symptoms are loss of memory, loss of speech or difficulty speaking, paralysis of her arms and legs, multiple seizures, blurred vision, gait difficulties, and problems swallowing. This is from a brain disorder. She suffers from chronic pain everyday. She has severe pain in her wrist and hands. She was also diagnosed with inflammatory poly arthritis (autoimmune arthritis and multiple autoimmune diseases) and osteoarthritis. The rheumatologist advised she has damage in her fingers, wrist, toes, and neck. This hurts so much seeing my mom in this condition. She currently is seeing 3 specialist for treatments. We are asking for help she has currently exhausted her short term disability and now has no job security which means she will lose her job and her medical insurance. This has devastated her as she loved her job very much as well as her co workers. Now she is told she needs to file for social security disability which can take possibly 6 months to possibly a year. This loss of income and loss of her insurance is going to create such a financial burden and so much stress which can trigger more seizures and prolong her ability to recover. I am asking her friends and loved ones who know my mother to help in any way. When my mom was discharged on 06/05 she was advised she needed home health, physical, occupational, and speech therapy. However, my mom could not afford the payment upfront that insurance didn’t cover. My mom has always been a God loving person who stands on faith. If you know my mom you know that she sees the good in everyone and loves with her whole heart. We are asking for help making sure she has a roof over her head and bills can be paid. I hate having to ask for help but my mom deserves to have peace of mind and right now she is afraid of what the future will be. If you are led to help, we thank you. If you can’t, we understand.
