Today, I’m building out this campaign to rally in support of my father, David Colvin Jr., as he prepares to receive a life-changing Liver Transplant as a result of liver cancer, cirrhosis of the liver and liver failure. Health Timeline: • David is a type-2 diabetic, which resulted in cirrhosis of the liver • On March 13, 2024, David was diagnosed with liver cancer resulting in liver failure • On November 8, 2024, David underwent surgery to remove the cancer from his liver. One-third of his left lobe was removed • In early 2024, David was told the liver cancer had returned After numerous tests and even surgery, medical professionals at both the Mayo Clinic and Duke Hospital have determined that a liver transplant offers the best chance for renewed life. However, this journey is not without obstacles. David’s battle against liver cancer, cirrhosis of the liver and liver failure has tested his resilience and spirit. Health complications and extreme side effects have affected every aspect of David’s life, including his ability to maintain consistent work or enjoy pain-free time with friends and family. This transplant offers David a renewed chance at a healthier, happier life to spend valuable time with family, friends and other loved ones. Anyone who knows David Colvin Jr., knows a creative, kind and jovial friend who is both adventurous in heart and sensitive in spirit. To me, David has always been my fun-loving dad, a man whose contagious laugh, great taste in music and commitment to courage and growth has undoubtedly helped shape who I am. Today, we launch this LFEBridge campaign to rally around David Colvin Jr. during this challenging time. Your generous contributions will go toward covering the overwhelming medical and non-medical expenses associated with his Liver transplant. These expenses include, but are not limited to: Surgery costs Post-operative care Prescription costs Temporary relocation costs* With your support, we can help alleviate the stress of this immense financial and emotional burden and ensure that David focuses on his recovery. Any donation, no matter the amount, makes a significant impact on David's journey. If a financial contribution is not possible at this time, we kindly as for your positive thoughts and prayers as he continues this journey. In addition, please feel free to share this page with your network. Your support in any form is deeply appreciated and helps provide David with the strength and encouragement that he needs on his path to healing. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. *David must move from Charlotte, NC to Durham, NC for the duration of his surgery + post-operative recovery. He will be receiving his transplant at Duke Hospital.
