God's blessings to all. My name is Barry Douglas (AKA BARRY BOOM) I am fundraising for Claudette Lewis who has gone through quite a journey. September 22 while shopping Claudette's mum noticed pus oozing from the left side of Claudette's head and said can you go get that checked out. Claudette was already under a dermatologist who had given her cream to control the oozing which she said was a slight infection so as instructed the cream was being applied as agreed. A week later it got worse pus was oozing so Claudette called 111 out of hours the doctor told her to take a picture. She sent the photo and the doctor said you need strong antibiotics for 14 days The course was finished but it was not getting better after the 4th lot of antibiotics a doctor at her gp practice sent her to the critical care unit in Newham General Hospital she was given MRI scan and was then told to go to Royal London Hospital to see the Max Fax team the member of the team gave her a biopsy and had to wait a week for the results. On the 13th Feb 2024, She was told that she had skin cancer squamous cell carcinoma and it had spread to her lymph nodes and had to have a major operation to remove a tumour. on 23rd March 2024 after a lengthy 12-hour operation she got another infection and had to go back to the theatre for another 5 hours to remove the infection. The doctor told her she was clear of cancer and the infection so after 3 weeks in the hospital she could go home. Weeks later she was complaining of blurred vision so went to A&E they ran an MRI scan and was then told by an ENT doctor that it had spread to her skull bone. Having to take all that in she was devastated and had to tell her family but the doctor wanted to run more tests when the results came back more devastating news the cancer has spread to her skull bone, spine, and lungs and she has a facial tumour and in her lymph nodes. no more surgery was offered but palliative care and a 2-year course of immunotherapy. Claudette has been through such a journey and has also shared her journey to share awareness that skin cancer doe's not discriminate and she wants to help others by sharing it with others so they don't end up like her making sure you apply sunblock/sunscreen when out in the sun I just wanted to do something to make life a little bit easier for her. Money does not make life better but in this situation, it will help to provide help for medical necessities and maybe the odd comfort. For that reason, I would like to try and raise £2000. Please if you can even give £1 it will help.Thank you for reading Claudette's story and I look forward to your support. Claudette also lost her son Shaun Aka Stormin Mc with the same cancer and the doctors are baffled at the connection he passed away February 2018 after a 2 year battle and it hit the family very hard . Shaun shared his journey and wanted to do so much more but it was to late this is why it’s so important to Claudette to share her journey and finish what Shaun started. Shaun’s legacy will always live through his music and courage and most of all he loved his fans and he loved his family .
