As most are aware, the Jennings family was struck with tragedy in October of 2019. While Travis was working his plumbing job at the St. Cloud Hospital, he had a seizure. Thanks to his coworkers he was walked down to the emergency room where he suffered another seizure. Travis stayed in the hospital for about five days undergoing CT's, MRI's, an EEG and a spinal tap trying to determine the cause of the seizures. Because of the Jennings family history of glioma brain tumors, we feared for that result. Thanks to close friends Pete and Kim Matanich and their good friend connection at the Mayo Clinic, Travis was accepted to the Mayo. His first surgery occurred in November of 2019. This resulted in removing most of the tumor avoiding getting too close to Travis's speech area. Pathology confirmed that it was a glioblastoma tumor. After six weeks of radiation and 6 months of chemo, Travis stayed unchanged at his two month MRI's for 2 years. Dr. Meyer, his surgeon, then detected some growth occurring and another surgery occurred in February of 2024. After each of these surgeries and recovery periods, Travis was able to go back to work. Unfortunately, tumor growth was detected yet again in January of 2024 resulting in two surgeries two days apart in February of 2024. Because of these surgeries and continued cancer growth, Travis is struggling with speech and comprehension and was no longer be able to return to work. Currently, Travis has been in the hospital for a week now. We got the devastating news today that the doctors are going to be eliminating all treatments for Travis as they feel like they would do more harm than good at this stage. We are hoping to be able to move him to Quiet Oaks Hospice in the near future. Donations are much appreciated and will go towards Travis's care.
