Hi friends and family. You may or may not know the disaster that my daughter Tina and her husband, Roger are trying to come to terms with. I will quote a post that Roger put on FB as he tells it best: "So...Tina and I decided to fully retire. That should have been a really great time in our lives. The plan was to move to Pine Island Lodge (in Manitoba) for the summers, do a little guiding, do a little maintenance work around the island...Live Life!! But instead, life had other plans. We packed our entire lives, the custom made king bed that I built using 70 yr old fir, our paintings, dishes, couches etc..you know your entire house of furniture and effects...Drove from Vernon BC to Winnipeg in 2 days...2 very long days considering I was driving a uhaul truck with a tow dolly, and Tina was following in the Silverado. So, fast forward, some low-life scumbags decided that our stuff was more important to them than it was to us. Sometime in the middle of the night, our uhaul truck and the tow dolly with our car attached disappeared. Yup, you guessed right, some wonderful residents of Winnipeg decided to steal our uhaul and car. The incident was reported to the city police but as you can imagine, odds are we will never see our stuff ever again. Needless to say, all we have left are 2 suitcases of clothing...Nothing else. Yes, we are devastated by the recent events in our lives, but we will move forward. For anyone deciding to move, plant trackers in your belongings. Might be the only way to find your belongings." The police did find the dolly that the car was on...but no car. And they did find the Uhaul truck as well, but all that was left is what is shown in the photo, above. And most of that is not theirs...it is stuff stolen from others! If you can find it in your heart to help, please do. As little or as much as you can is all greatly appreciated as they lost everything and are forced to start over. Thank you.
