On Wednesday, July 26, my brother Timothy Sawyer, was assaulted during a verbal confrontation at my parent's house, in which he was pushed backward into the cement. Both of my parents, Richard and Rebecca Sawyer, called 911 and rushed out after hearing the confrontation to see Timothy unconscious on the ground. He was rushed to sierra vista hospital via ambulance after experiencing severe head trauma and brain bleeding. He underwent an emergency craniectomy to remove the blood clot and alleviate pressure and swelling in his brain. He is now in the ICU in a medically induced coma in an attempt to let his brain heal and for the swelling to go down as much as possible. When it comes to traumatic brain injuries, everything is unknown. This is going to be a day-by-day recovery, and we are unsure right now how long it will be. We do not know what his state will be like when they bring him out of his coma, what he will remember or what his speaking ability/motor functions will be. He will likely be in the ICU for a couple of weeks and will need to undergo a lot of physical therapy and rehabilitation recovery services. This is not going to be a couple of weeks race, but a months-long marathon. we ask our family, friends, and community for your support and prayers during this time. thank you, sincerely The Sawyer Family
