We are the Marianna High School class of 2002, and we have a classmate who needs our help. She didn't ask for our help, but that's the beauty of friends: You don't have to ask them to help, they just want to.Tiffany Anderson has a smile that never leaves her face. Since elementary school, she has been smiling from ear to ear, practically forcing others to smile back at her! Even though many of us have lost touch since we graduated in 2002, we have been able to keep up with Tiffany through Facebook. On October 21, 2015, Tiffany shared a story that has hit home with many of our classmates. Tiffany has a 10 year old daughter, Destiny, who has been battling Batten Disease since birth. This disease leaves her blind, bedridden (unable to sit up, walk or move her body on her own) and unable to talk. She can no longer swallow on her own so Tiffany feeds her by a gtube in her stomach and has to keep her airway clear so that she can breath. As you can imagine, Tiffany has thrown herself into caring for Destiny.Unfortunately, Tiffany's dedication to her daughter has taken its toll. Tiffany has ignored and neglected her own health to pour all the love and energy she has into her daughter. Tiffany has been fighting end stage renal disease for some time now, and on October 18, 2015, she had a heart attack. Our 31 year old classmate had a heart attack. Tiffany is currently in recovery at Bay Medical Center. Even at a time like this, when her body is broken and hurting, Tiffany still wants to talk about Destiny! Here is a link to the Facebook post that clued everyone in on what is going on in Tiffany's life: https://www.facebook.com/tiffany.anderson.712/posts/980657541994210As you can imagine, the medical bills that Tiffany and her family face for her most recent health issues alone are likely going to be staggering. We, as the Marianna High School class of 2002, would like to urge everyone to make a donation to assist Tiffany in paying her medical bills and providing for herself and Destiny. We don't know how much she will need, and we don't know when she will need the money. What we do know is that any amount will help. We have set a goal of $2,500, and a deadline of November 6, 2015, the date of Marianna High's last home football game. It's a short window, but we do that to encourage everyone to not sit on their hands and think "I'll make a donation later." Donate today. A friend is in need, and as a group we can do mighty and powerful things. We cannot thank everyone who donates enough. Every little bit will help. Tiffany has a strong faith in God, and is not shy about sharing that faith. Acts 20:35 says "By all these things, I have shown you that by working in this way we must help the weak, and remember the words of the Lord Jesus that he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"Let's pay Tiffany back for all those smiles. Donate today.
